Here are the
annotated pics of our temporary labyrinth…
(Some of
these were taken with the flash on to show things better—some were not to show
the black-lit ambience of the room.)
¨
This was the
sign-in station with an FAQ about the Labyrinth. You can find the FAQ by clicking here.
¨
This was the
first station where they prayed the Lord’s Prayer
¨
This is a wider
shot of the room. I used white cord and
simple duct tape to map out a non-traditional labyrinth. The 7-ring Cretan-style didn’t fit in the
room, so I’ll have to do that some other day in a wider room (I discovered that
you likely need a large room to do that, perhaps as big as our lobby or west worship
center.
¨
This was the
second station. They chose a name for
God used in the bible (in the original Hebrew) and then wrote that or another
name that they needed God to be for them.
It was really amazing to see all these names on the wall in everyone’s
handwriting. I put the dry-erase markers
up with plasti-tak on the caps. I left this one up.
¨
This was the third
station where they lit a candle for someone that needed to come to Christ or
needed healing. The one on the right without
a flash better shows what it looked like.
We went through hundreds of tea-light-candles which are a great thing to
use for this. I found them for just 3
bucks for a whole huge bag at Hobby Lobby.
¨
This was the
fourth station: communion and giving to the poor. They could dip in the first cup or drink from
the common cup (I like to have both options as some people find a great
experience in the common cup – which also retained a sense of “community” in
the participants.
¨
This was the
fifth station – a very meaningful time of placing large fish hooks in a cork
cross. People thought of someone they
hadn’t forgiven and pictured that unforgiveness being
like a “hook” in their cheek holding them back.
They walked through the forgivness prayer step
of Freedom in Christ and then placed the hook in the cross. This station was completely replicated from
our last Lobby worship
gathering.
¨
This was the sixth
station where they prayed through the armor of God.
¨
This was the
final station where they posted a praised to God and some also posted a prayer
request for others to pray for. I left
this one up.
