Welcome to…

Holiness Anonymous ®

Our story: We were founded 50 years ago in the early 21st century when the church increasingly became an unsafe place for a Christian to confess victory over sin.  At that time “authenticity” was in vogue and people assumed nobody could ever live a pure life. At the time it was commonly believed that anyone who claimed to live a pure life was a prideful liar and a hypocrite so testimonies for holiness disappeared or went underground. One of our founders, Aaron Clark put it this way back in 2011: “In the days of our founding it was easier to confess to an addiction to pornography than to holiness… if you confessed to being addicted to porn the church applauded you for being authentic, if you confessed to victory over sin they accused you of being a Pharisee.” In that early-21st century ethos the three founders (Aaron Clark, Karen Winters and Tim Stanford) got together to start the first HA group which became the inception of the now-worldwide Holiness Anonymous® movement which now provides a safe place for testimonies to victory over sin.

Our mission: Providing safe places where Christians can confess to being victorious over sin by God’s grace without being accused of self-deception, lying, pride, or hypocrisy.

Our Ministry: We organize off-the record meetings in neutral places where believers who have experienced cleansing and empowerment from God that has enabled them to gain victory over purposeful sin. In a sense we are a “support group” for a small minority of Christians who have experienced a “second work of grace” from God enabling them to love God so much that they obey him likewise. Since most churches reject this possibility we founded an organization where like-minded Christians can affirm and encourage one another in holiness.

Our four rules:

1. We do not use last names—we only use first names in order to protect those who testify.

2. Nobody is required to confess victory—we are open to those who hunger for victory over sin but have not yet found that victory providing they keep secret any testimonies they hear.

3. We begin any voluntary confessions of victory the same way—“Hi I’m _insert first name_ and I confess that I have been victorious over sin for __insert number of days/months.__.”

4. All confessions of victory are strictly confidential and we covenant to never repeat any testimonies outside of our group—you can confess without the fear of judgment or reprisal.
