Drury (son) tells of his father John's death this way: "He had been ill
and bedfast for some time. I went over to see my father and found him in bed
when I got there. My father said to me, "Oh, walter
I was just slipping away to be with Jesus when you stopped me." Then
John repeated Simeon's words, "No lettest thou
thy servant depart in peace for mine eyes have seen thy salvation>' and
within 24 hours he was gone." Died 1897
