Poetry – David Drury
Paradoxical Philip
Shaw
An
intellectual inhabiting a vest floatation device dress code—
unusual parsing Zoolander
lips befits the Paradoxical Phil
I
must reflect for this time to just jot one quirky ode:
One
does make uncomfortable in the midst
of teaching me to be somewhat still,
helping me to know more,
leading me beyond,
showing sores,
up in da’ grill.
Ian Swyers IS
Affirming
naming framing Ian:
A human doing or a human being?
As
less concerned must may might happen
A
man concerned with what he might become
Appropriate
initializing becoming solitary “is”
As
aptly defines one—baller turned scholar
And
brings it all down to the truth,
As
helps us see he simply is.
